Kagamira Subsector: The Kagamira Subsector has an
estimated population in 1202 of approximately 208.03 million, a decline of 96%
from its Pre-Collapse population. Its highest population is 76.3 million at
Vallae, and its highest tech level is 7 at Thogho, Astira, Ersii and Midku. The
Kagamira Subsector had an estimated population in 1117 of approximately 7.44
billion. Its highest population was 5.65 billion at Kagamira, and its highest
tech level was 15 at Gukhaga and Kagamira.
The Uris Belt (1117) was the site of a Naval Construction Yard
specializing in large ships fashioned from the belt's planetoids. When Virus
hit, Uris Belt's shipyards were the first targets of destruction by the
self-hating Doomslayer-strain viruses. Most, if not all, of the ships built at
Uris were infected and destroyed in the early days of the Collapse.
Kagamira (1519) industrialized many centuries before most of its
neighbors. The prodigious output of its factories was known throughout Vland
sector. When Virus struck and the system's high-tech industrial plants turned
on their masters, the majority of the planet's population was destroyed.
Survivors of the Collapse have begun to rebuilt their decimated world, using
primitive technology that Virus is unable to use effectively.
Ersii (1612) has three of the richest asteroid belts in the entire Vland
sector. The Khuushe family of the Imperial Nobility owned and ruled the system
before the Collapse. After the chaos of Virus hit, however, the crime syndicate
that had controlled the system's ore processing facilities, managed to divert
the first wave of Vampire Fleets against the Khuushe, who were subsequently
destroyed. The descendants of the syndicate have managed to maintain control of
the system in the intervening decades by making deals with the Vampire Fleets
that frequent the system. The syndicate's current Jefé provides human
labor for the Vampire Fleets in return for autonomy over the system and a
"hands-off" policy toward his small but well-armed starship fleet.
